IRA, SMS

  • Q1: Is only "IRA" for TE character set ?
    I want to use "ucs2" for unicode.

    Answer:
    Actually in SMS TEST mode the only character set supported is IRA;
    in SMS PDU mode all character sets are supported since they are enclosed in the PDU.
    Therefore if you want to use "ucs2" for unicode as character set, then work in PDU mode.

    Q2: I also want to use 8bits and PDU mode to send SMS ,
    but when I set "AT+CSMP =x,x,x,y" ,y=25 ,04,244~248. The GPRS
    module responses error code :303.
    How can I deal with it?

    Answer:
    The "AT+CSMP=x,x,x,y" command applies only to the SMS TEXT mode, it does not apply to
    the PDU MODE. In PDU mode all the SMS parameters are enclosed in the PDU.
    Therefore you don`t have to send the AT+CSMP command if you work in PDU mode.
