ORG1518
GNSS module with large active antenna and Flash for superior performance.
The ORG1518 offers an optimized receiver and antenna combination with unconditional frequency stability, improved noise immunity, higher sensitivity, and enhanced signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The optimized combination not only decreases the footprint, but also minimizes design risks and reduces time to market. The solution is from the OriginGPS Hornet series.
Measuring only 17x17x6.4 mm and weighing 8 gr., the ORG1518 integrates a patch antenna element, LNA, SAW filter, TCXO, RTC crystal, RF shield and Power Management Unit with a SiRFStarV™ GNSS processor.
The GNSS module offers superior sensitivity and outstanding performance, achieving rapid time to first fix (TTFF) in less than 1sec., accuracy of approximately 1m, and tracking sensitivity down to -164dBm.
The module has low power modes enhanced by its unique architecture that can detect changes in context, temperature, and satellite signals by maintaining, and opportunistically updating its internal fine time, frequency, and ephemeris data. In this way, a state of near continuous availability is achieved, while only mere microwatts of battery power are consumed.
