help on power supply

Q: Type of module? A:Aarlogic C10/3
Q: Firmware version? A:
Q: Type of starter kit you have?
(S1, S1B, S2, S3, S4, EVK1, EVK2, none, other)
A: S4

I used 9V to operate the module. Led 200 functioned while led 270
did not. What should I do?

Please help me to determine the amount of volts for this module. Thank you.

RE: help on power supply

okay thanks for the info, just for clarification though, it's 12v/2.5A right? Is it the maximum value? and what documentation should i look at because I'm currently looking at the STK S4 manual, is it the correct document?

Isn't the 2.5A too big for the current? I mean usually adapters here in the philippines are ranged between 0.4 to 1A.

it is not to big.
For further support please be so kind and update your profile with RS customer number.
Thank you for understanding.

okay thanks, we already used a 12v 3A adapter, but the led 270 still wouldn't work, is there a way to test is if the kit is actually powered up and the problem is the LED?

LED200 on the Starter kit and the GPS led on the AArlogic C10 is blinking

get you any response from module?

we tried connecting it to the pc and used hyperterminal but we didn't get any response. Another question, do we need to install the antenna to get it running because we just powered it up to see if the led270 would flash but it didn't.

how do you connect?
- what type of cable?
- what port on S4?

we inserted the power adapter to the x200 powersupply input. From what I know is that LED270 should blink as well as the GSM LED on the aarlogic c10 board. but sadly it doesn't blink..we also don't get a response from the hyperterminal..we already inserted the serial to usb port of the x300 to the pc.

how do you set the jumpers on the S4?

13

Thursday, May 13th 2010, 3:44pm

we set the jumpers exactly based on the jumpers stated in the S4 manual

14

ok then you should get some response from module.
Without the jumper settings posted by you I am not able to reconstruct the described behaviour, sorry.

okay thanks, finally we got a response from the hyper terminal, not sure what the problem was though

these are the jumpers we set by the way

jp200, 202, 203, 204 (1and2), 250 are all closed
jp201 is left open

connected through x300

we got the led200 blinking then the gsm and gps are also blinking meaning there are no antenna yet right, however the led270 still wasn't on

ok that means the board is working. All other must be done by software and that is up to you.

ahh okay thanks for your help, we were already able to send sms msg thru AT commands, i just thought before that led270 was supposed to be blinking
