GSM, GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA and CDMA components in one kit

Dreieich, 26/3/2008 (profact) – As a basis for wireless telecommunication devices that can be used globally, Round Solutions has developed a Starter-Kit which contains three very small pin and software compatible modules and with all the necessary basic components. This Starter-Kit is up to now unique according to information from businesses around the world.

The 3.5G module supports UMTS and HSDPA connections and is parallel compatible with EDGE. The tried and tested GPRS technology is located in the 2G module and is, so to speak, the younger brother of the 3.5G module. The compatible module serves the coverage of both 800 and 1,900 MHz CDMA bands in 3G technology. All modules are controlled via a compatible AT instruction set and support TCP and UDP.

Various multiband antennas are already included in the starter kit. In addition, Round Solutions supply matching lithium polymer rechargeable batteries, SIM card holders, microphones, plug connectors, loudspeakers and HF cables with the kit. The developer hence gets all necessary components for his first prototype unit.

An online portal is additionally available to customers at http://track4free.com for the realisation of tracking systems, for example. The Track4free server is based on Google maps. It enables worldwide GPS location, free of charge. Prerequisite for the use of the online platform is a functional GPS device that can transmit geodata via HDCSD, GPRS, EDGE or UMTS. After registering at Track4free, the user is shown examples of a map that delivers the position data as well as a great deal of additional information. This is supplemented by comprehensive documentation of the movement of his device. Users can register up to two applications per account. The portal at http://www.gauge4free.com is available for telemetry applications.
