A mobile phone without display and keypad

Neu-Isenburg, September 2nd 2009 – What may initially sound like a faulty design concept actually makes a great deal of sense. Wireless communication between machines requires neither a display nor keys. It is only people who need such features. With its AarLogic C05/3, Round Solutions now offers a system designed specifically for straight digital data exchange. The major advantage is that all components fit on a single small plug-in board with a labfriendly 2.54-mm matrix – from the GSM module to the GPS receiver, from the SIM-card holder to the AC/DC adapter for operation in cars or trucks.

The interface architecture includes such components as RS232, I²C and SPI serial buses and a stable antenna connection. This enables users to write both object- and aspect-oriented and functional programs. Ready-to-use – and free – applications for access to the www.track4free.com and www.track4less.com geodata servers are already available. “Thanks to the GPS module, these boards support not only traditional GSM-based telemetry applications such as burglar alarms and tank fill-level indicators, but also the design of specific positioning systems”, explains Harald Naumann, Technical Director of Round Solutions. “And our system also optimizes the time-to-market aspect that has become so important today. You just unpack the unit, load the software, connect the antenna and the cigarette lighter cable and you’re ready to go.”
